Konda Surekha’s controversial statement regarding Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya’s divorce has created quite a stir. While Samantha and Naga Chaitanya both released statements calling out Surekha for making such a comment, Nagarjuna has also taken to social media to slam the Telangana minister for her ‘irrelevant and false’ statements. Nagarjuna BLASTS Konda Surekha

Nagarjuna took to his X (formerly Twitter) account and strongly reacted to Surekha’s statement regarding the reason behind the divorce of Samantha and Naga Chaitanya. Calling out the Telangana minister, the ‘Brahmastra’ expressed his displeasure over the personal attack on his family and wrote in Telugu, “I strongly condemn the comments of the Honorable Minister Mrs. Konda Surekha. Don’t use the lives of movie stars who stay away from politics to criticize your opponents. Please respect other people’s privacy.”

He further added, “As a woman in a responsible position, your comments and accusations against our family are completely irrelevant and false. I request you to withdraw your comments immediately.” (Translation as per Google Translate)

Surekha’s statement

During a recent interaction, Telangana minister Konda Surekha claimed that KT Rama Rao demanded Samantha be sent to him in exchange for sparing Nagarjuna Akkineni’s N-Convention Centre from demolition. According to her, Samantha refused to comply which ultimately resulted in her and Naga Chaitanya divorcing. The Deccan Herald quoted Surekha saying, “KTR asked to send Samantha in return for not demolishing the N-convention centre. Nagarjuna forced Samantha to go to KTR, but she said no. That led to divorce.” The ‘Brahmastra’ actor’s convention centre was partially demolished on August 24, 2024, by HYDRAA for encroaching on lake buffer zones.

Speaking to the media, Surekha also claimed, “It is KT Rama Rao because of whom Samantha’s divorce happened. He was a minister at that time and used to tap the phones of the actresses and then find their weaknesses to blackmail them. He used to make them drug addicts and then do this. Everyone knows this, Samantha, Naga Chaitanya, his family, everybody is aware that such a thing happened.”
